The Polish Cartier-Bresson – that is how he is often referred to. Just like the master of French photography, he has been photographing with a Leica 50mm all his life. Bogdan Dziworski – cinematographer, director, author of nearly 40 short-, medium-, and full-length films will visit Two Riversides. We will see his exhibition “Podchody i inne gry towarzyskie” (Paper Chase and other party games).
The relationships between men and women, their undertones and intricacies, the first sensations and advances caught with the eminently watchful eye, observing the simple behaviours of regular people, the essence of masculinity and femininity – this is the world of feelings, which Bogdan Dziworski in a way unfolds before the viewer anew, using simple language understandable for everyone. These shots are an obligatory lesson in photography with a prominent teacher.
As the author says in one of his interviews, “Sometimes you manage to take a picture which is, as somebody put it, worth a 1000 words.” Bogdan Dziworski’s photo exhibition, which you will have a chance to enjoy at the 8th Two Riversides Film and Art Festival, is a great opportunity to see works that are worth a 1000 words each. “Podchody i inne gry towarzyskie” reveal the artist’s better-known photos, which made their way into the history of Polish photography, as well as those which Leica’s Polish representative found in Dziworski’s abundant archives.
The exhibition resulted from the co-operation between the author, the Polish Leika representative (who took Dziworski’s photo archive under his custody), and the Two Riversides Film and Art Festival. During the Festival Dziworski will run open workshops, a variation on the common ground of two art forms – cinema and photography.
