The demonic Gerard in “The Debt”; “The Collector” who undergoes transformation; the Internet user in love with Magdalena Cielecka in “Loneliness on the Net” – Andrzej Chyra will be the hero of this year’s “And God Created Actor…” at the Two Riversides Film and Art Festival.
Chyra became one of the leading Polish actors when he starred in “The Debt,” and has been maintaining this position for 15 years now. The role of the menacing Gerard Nowak, a gangster blackmailing two young businessmen, not only brought him appreciation from critics, but also caught the viewers’ attention for a long time. He worked with the most prominent actors and directors, such as Feliks Falk, Andrzej Wajda, and Jerzy Stuhr.
As an actor, Chyra is not afraid of challenges and taking risks. He proved that while making the controversial “Symmetry” with Konrad Niewolski and the equally memorable “Palimpsest.” He starred in “Elles,” Małgorzata Szumowska’s first international production. Chyra’s cooperation with her resulted in one of the best film roles of the past several years in “In The Name Of.” You can see this picture at Two Riversides as part of its author’s retrospective.
