Members: Adam Strug – vocal, accordion, Stanisław Soyka – piano
During the Two Riversides Festival, Mięćmierz will host the première performance of a collection of songs composed to Bolesław Leśmian's texts.
The “Strug. Leśmian. Soyka” album, just published by Universal Music Polska, resulted from a meeting of two musical personalities: Adam Strug and Stanisław Soyka. Why Leśmian? His works hold a different meaning for both artists. For Adam Strug, “the most crucial thing about his works is the virtuoso merger of theology and erotics.” And for Stanisław Soyka, Leśmian's poems are music themselves: “It is a homogeneous modus. You may not understand the language entirely, and still be enchanted by Leśmian.” These two points gave birth to a different approach to the poet's work. Thanks to Stasnisław Soyka's pianoforte and the hypnotising baritone of the songs' author, Adam Strug, Leśmian's lyric poetry gains a sort of new dimension, at the same time keeping its initial sensuality and spirit.
