The music of cinema – Young Polish Philharmonic Orchestra on the market square in Kazimierz

The 8th Two Riversides Festival will begin with themes from such films as “E.T,” “Star Wars,” “The Lord of the Rings,” “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Young Polish Philharmonic Orchestra will present recognisable motifs from John Williams, Howard Shore, Klaus Badelt.

The concert will also include music by Polish composers, such as Wojciech Kilar (“The Ninth Gate,” “The Portrait of a Lady”), Zbigniew Preisner (“The Double Life of Véronique”), Abel Korzeniowski („W.E.”), and Zygmunt Konieczny.

It will be the second time that Young Polish Philharmonic Orchestra will be visiting Two Riversides. It includes the 39 most talented students from music schools and universities. It is the only youth orchestra in Poland whose funds come from private investors. Adam Klicek, co-author of the Grammy-awarded album “Night in Calisia,” is the artistic director and conductor of Young Polish Philharmonic Orchestra.

The orchestra will perform at the Kazimierz Market Square on the 2nd of August at 7.30 PM. Admission to the concert is free.
