    A review of new, often premiere short-length films. This section comprises of awarded shorts from international festivals and the best short, professional Polish films from the previous season.   • INDEPENDENT SHORT FILMS COMPETITION

    Show yourself in Kazimierz Dolny and Janowiec nad Wisłą. We are waiting for your films until the 31th of May 2014. The main prize of the ISFC is 5000 PLN. There are also two additional prizes: 3000 and 2000 PLN.

  • THE THEATRES OF TADEUSZ RÓŻEWICZ

    The dramas by Tadeusz Rózewicz disturb, haunt, upset. It is a world that spilled out of its boundaries – disordered, inconsistent, made up of newspaper fragments, television programs, street conversations. It is not only an excellent depiction of reality, but also a poignant struggle with a constant lack – a lack of communication, a common language, true feelings, and, first and foremost, a lack of God.

  • TELEVISION THEATRE

    During Two Riversides we want to popularise this art form, which, in accordance with the idea behind the festival, is based on the co-existence of different fields of art. Television theatre has been shaping Polish culture since the beginning of its existence, being a unique phenomenon on the artistic map of the world. There is a great need to preserve and promote this kind of creative activity.

  • THE AUDIENCE POLL

    At the Two Riversides the only jury is the audience. Films which take part in the Poll are ones from the World Under Canvas and feature film premieres from other sections produced in 2013 and 2014.

  • CINEMA AROUND THE CORNER

    Cinemas within the Cinema Round the Corner network offer the most important amenities of commercial cinemas such as high quality of sound and image. However, they are not limited by a fixed repertoire, lack of access to many movies, and short release period after which a movie disappears forever from the screens.

  • KIDS BLOCK

    With the youngest cinema-lovers in mind, we have planned screenings of films and animated stories in cooperation with “Kino za Rogiem” („Cinema around the Corner”) and TVP ABC. As part of this program we will also show “Bella and Sebastian,” which will be presented in the “World Under Canvas” section.

    Presentation of composers and performers of classical, jazz, alternative music. The undermining assumption of our music program is connecting traditional and innovative music styles. At the same time, thinking about shaping the Polish scene, we want to promote young musicians who set the main trends of contemporary scene.

  • TWO RIVERSIDES OF LITERATURE

    A series of meetings with renowned Polish authors, nominees, and winners of the most important awards in the field of literature. The topic of this year’s edition is how memory works, and how it is reflected in literature. The meetings with the authors take place at the House of Maria and Jerzy Kuncewicz, which which came to be as a meeting place for writers and intellectuals.
